How to file EPA HFCs

Welcome to our quick tips guide for filing EPA reports on Hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) using IMEXNet. Simplify your compliance journey with these essential steps. Let's dive in!

File with Entry (Cargo Release) or Entry Summary Certified for Cargo Release. This must be done 10 days before arrival for ocean shipments and 5 days before arrival for all other modes of transportation.

How to Disclaim:

If your HTS is flagged with EH1, you have the option to disclaim the data at your discretion.

  1. Click the "PGA" button to proceed

  2. Select Agency EPA and A. Program HFC

  3. Disclaim codes allowed are A and C.

How to file data for HFCs:

If your HTS is flagged with EH2, you MUST submit data to EPA.

  1. Click the "PGA" button to proceed

  2. Select Agency EPA and A. Program HFC

  3. Select Product or Component and add CAS number for blends.

  4. Add the percent composition

  5. Enter Model, Manufacture Date, and Item Identity Numbers (ASHRAE number)

  6. Enter Entity data: Type, Name, ID, Address, City, State, Country, Zip Code, Contact, Phone and Email.

  7. Add Certification data

  8. Add container information

  9. Enter Gross / Net Unit of Measure

  10. If not physically accompanying the shipment, also upload a certificate of analysis in the DIS and label the image as “EPA_CERTIFICATE_OF_ANALYSIS”. Link the DIS filing to the bill on file.
