How to Query Harmonized System by Update Number

During the year customs puts into effect the latest changes to several different HTS. It is important to always take not of these changes since errors are likely to appear when transmitting if these HTS aren't up to date. Updating these HTS isn't a difficult process since IMEXNet is prepared to update the HTS with a simple input and click of a button. This guide will go over the steps needed to take, in order to update the HTS in the system, using the Update Number.

Instructions

  1. Enter the US Customs Clearance module and under its options select HTS. This will display all the tariffs currently in the system on the main table, press the Transmit button located on the menu strip.

  2. The HTS Transmission window will open up and here select the Update by Msg No. tab. You'll need to enter the Update No. Provided by customs in order to update the HTS. On the Update No. field you will need to enter the following numbers one at a time: 1901, 1902, 1903, 1904, 1905. Making sure that you press the Transmit button after entering one of these numbers.

  3. After making sure you've gone ahead and transmitted all of the Update Numbers, close the HTS Transmission window and select the Transmission Log option. Bellow we will include an image of what sort of messages will appear after these updates have been done properly.

  4. The message first shows that update has been extracted and applied to the system, and then mentions that the latest update is 1905. This means that 1905 is the last update of the batch.
