How to - Create Warehouse Locations

This how-to explains step by step instructions on creating warehouse locations.

Instructions

1. Go to “Logistics” Module and select “WLocations”.

2. Click on “Options” button   

3. Fill the fields and set the proper “Format” for desired Result.

                                              

Fields Dictionary


Warehouse:  Warehouse under which locations will be created.

Rack Location Name:  Rack or Floor location name

# of spaces :   total number of spaces to create per row.

# of Rows: number of rows per rack, if locations are floor based then use “1”

Start space:  the number of space to start for the routine, if no previous locations created  then use “1”.

Start Row:  the row number to start on the creation routine, if no previous locations created then use “1”.

Rack Location: if location in a sub location withing the warehouse use this field.

Format: the order and fields to be used for the final result. Only fields with a {#} will be used to format the location name.


Examples

Rack  Location Name {0}: W4

# of spaces {1}: 200

# of Rows {2}: 1

Start space: 1

Start row: 1

Rack Location {3}: L

Format: {0}-{1}


Result:

Total of lcations: 200  =  (spaces x row)

W4-1

W4-2

….

W4-200

 

Rack  Location Name {0}: W4

# of spaces {1}: 200

# of Rows {2}: 2

Start space: 1

Start row: 1

Rack Location {3}: L

Format: {0}-{1}-R{2}-{3}


Result:

Total of locations:  400  = (spaces x row)


W4-1-R1-L

W4-2-R1-L

……

W4-200-R1-L


W4-1-R2-L

W4-2-R2-L

……

W4-200-R2-L
