A Custom Validation sets specific error messages when validating an EEI. All of these validations will be checked per EEI Item and will be evaluated based on the Following Fields:

When incorporating a custom validation for a US Principal Party in Interest (USPPI), it is imperative to include the following details:

  • HTS: The Schedule B US Tariff that requires validation.

  • UOM: Either Kilogram (Kg), Quantity 1 (Qty.1), or Quantity 2 (Qty.2).

  • Minimum USD Value per UOM: The minimum value per Kilogram or per Unit (when divided by either Qty.1 or Qty.2).

  • Maximum USD Value per UOM: The maximum value per Kilogram or per Unit (when divided by either Qty.1 or Qty.2).

  • Critical: Indicate "Yes" if a value outside the specified range must halt the transmission of the Electronic Export Information (EEI). If not selected, the EEI will still be transmitted, but an Informational Error will be generated.

How does this error messages look like?

Here we have an open EEI. To review CBP validations, as well as custom validations added to the USPPI, please click on the "Validate" button on the Ribbon.

Notes:

  • When implementing a validation, IMEXNET will ensure that all required values for the validation are provided. For example, if a validation checks the value per kilogram, both the Value and Weight (KG) fields must be filled out.

  • Employees with the ā€EEI Skip Validationā€ option enabled on their profile can submit the EEI. Critical Errors will appear as Informational Errors for these users.
