How to declare an IIT

Instruments of International Traffic are containers, skids, shipping tanks and similar articles used for the transportation of merchandise. IIT do not require a formal entry and payment of duty.

Ā Instructions

Review 19 C.F.R. Ā§Ā§ 10.41, 10.41a, Part 123, Subpart B for applicable CBP regulations.

1. When filing an IIT in Equipment section, select the type of IIT that corresponds.

2. Add the following information in notes section:

  • Importer of record

  • Tax ID

  • Bond number

  • Rule Section 10.41(A)
